Y5-X2 was a green R5 unit operating during the First Order-Resistance War. It served on board the main cruiser of the Resistance.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Y5-X2 was created for the sequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi; however, the scene the droid appeared in was ultimately cut before the final release.[2] Despite this, the character still appeared in Star Wars: Droid Factory two-pack of figures tied into the film and released by Disney at Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April, 2017,[1] and Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo[3] and released alongside the film on December 15, 2017.[4]
