Yabol Opa was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the regions known as the Colonies[1] and the Interior.[2] It was also situated in grid square M-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] and the super-hyperroute[4] known as the Perlemian Trade Route linked Yabol Opa to the Castell system as well as the Core Worlds' Brentaal System.[1]
By 22 BBY,[5] the University of Yabol Opa had expanded to encompass the entire surface of the planet. At that time, the Grand Warden—and the absolute ruler—of the university was Solokin Sakellar, who maintained a skyscraper lodge on the galactic capital, the Core Worlds planet Coruscant.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Yabol Opa was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in the fifty-second issue of Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[6] published around December 30, 2015.[7] The planet-wide University of Yabol Opa was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2003 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, authored by Simon Beecroft.[8] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, later identified the planet by its name.[9]
