"Let me be blunt. Project Swarm is taking too long. Your supervisor, Major Yaltza, did not survive Lord Vader's latest assessment."
―General Maximillian Veers[2]

Yaltza was an Imperial officer who served the Galactic Empire, holding the rank of major. Major Yaltza was placed in charge of Project Swarm, an Imperial operation that intended to locate the headquarters of the Rebel Alliance.[2] In 3 ABY,[1] the Sith Lord Darth Vader assessed the project, and executed Major Yaltza for making insufficient progress. General Maximilian Veers was chosen to replace Yaltza, informing Project Swarm's team of archaeologists aboard the flagship Executor of the major's failure.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Yaltza was mentioned in the comic Doctor Aphra (2016) 37, written by Simon Spurrier and published by Marvel Comics[2] on October 2, 2019.[3]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 The events of Doctor Aphra (2016) 37 and Doctor Aphra (2016) 38 take place immediately before Doctor Aphra (2016) 39, where it is established that Echo Base had been constructed on Hoth. Star Wars: Timelines states that Echo Base was constructed in 3 ABY and places the base's destruction at the Battle of Hoth in the same year, meaning that the events of Doctor Aphra 37, including Yaltza's death, are set in 3 ABY.
