Yuriem[3] was a Zakuulan Human from the planet Zakuul[1] who held the title of High Justice in the Eternal Empire[3] at some point prior to the Empire's conquest of the galaxy that began in 3636 BBY.[2] Yuriem was accused of profaning the name of Valkorion, the Immortal Emperor, and as a result, the Zakuulan High Justice was put to death in an extravagant public execution organized by the entertainer Indo Zal.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Yuriem was mentioned in the Codex entry for Indo Zal in Knights of the Eternal Throne,[3] the 2016 Digital Expansion for the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[4]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 SWTOR mini.png Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire—Codex: "Zakuul" establishes that the Eternal Empire was an isolationist state whose Zakuul population was dominated by Humans, with aliens only growing in number after the Empire's conquest of the galaxy. Additionally, all members of the Knights of Zakuul, the Scions of Zakuul, Eternal Empire military, and Zakuulan high society throughout Knights of the Fallen Empire are shown to be exclusively Human. As Yuriem served as High Justice prior to Valkorion's death—which preceded the Empire's conquest as shown in Fallen Empire—it can be assumed that Yuriem was a Human who hailed from Zakuul.
  2. 2.0 2.1 According to SWTOR mini.png Forums: Dear Story Team, What Year Are We Currently In? on The Old Republic's official website (backup link), the first chapter of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire takes place in 3636 BBY and the ninth chapter in 3630 BBY. The expansion states that the Outlander woke up five years after the events of the first chapter, placing Chapters II through VIII in 3631 BBY. — SWTOR mini.png Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne—Codex: "Indo Zal" states that Yuriem was executed for profaning the name of Valkorion, who dies in Chapter I of Knights of the Fallen Empire. The Codex entry for the Scions of Zakuul also states that Arcann, who succeeded Valkorion on the throne, immediately ordered Vaylin in her capacity as High Justice to wipe out the Scions, and Vaylin was still serving as High Justice when Chapter 2 of Fallen Empire picks up in 3631 BBY. Thus, Yuriem must have held the title prior to Vaylin and prior to Valkorion's death in 3636 BBY.
