- "That little beast killed ZJ-7199! I can't get it off."
- ―A stormtrooper of the 709th Legion
ZJ-7199 was a[3] human[2] stormtrooper who served in the 709th Legion of the First Order.[3] In 34 ABY,[1] the legion was dispatched to find Resistance operatives on the[3] Outer Rim[4] planet Batuu, and ZJ-7199 was one of the troopers sent into an outpost there, serving under a stormtrooper sergeant. Wearing standard First Order stormtrooper armor, ZJ-7199 joined the sergeant and other stormtroopers in confronting the criminal Kendoh Voss and her gang at the antiquite store of the Ithorian collector Dok-Ondar.[3]
When fighting broke out between Voss's gang and the troopers, Voss used the blue lightsaber of the late Cerean Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi to free Simpi, Dok-Ondar's baby sarlacc, from its tank as a distraction. The sarlacc then attached itself to ZJ-7199 and killed the soldier.[3]
