Zalorians were the inhabitants of the astronomical object Zaloriis.[1] Shortly before the Battle of Hoth[2] in 3 ABY,[3] the Zalorians fought the reigning Galactic Empire on Zaloriis,[1] who had to put down a revolt there.[4] The human male Maximilian Veers was among the Imperial combatants,[1] and he employed new tactics of his own design that gave victory to the Empire.[4] Veers' actions against the Zalorians demonstrated the cunning and courage that led to his promotion to the rank of general in the Imperial Army,[1] and assignment to the Sith Lord Darth Vader's Death Squadron.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
The Zalorians received a canon mention in Adam Gidwitz's 2015 children's book So You Want to Be a Jedi?, a retelling of the[1] 1980[5] film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[1]
Zalorians had originally been mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in Prima Games' official strategy guide for the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds,[6] before appearing in the game itself. In Legends, the Zalorians were the Human inhabitants of the planet Zaloriis, who also fought against the Empire and Maximilian Veers.[7]
