Zaloriis was a location in the galaxy, inhabited by Zalorians. During the Imperial Era, when the galaxy was dominated by the Galactic Empire, and prior to the Battle of Hoth[1] in the year 3 ABY,[2] a battle occurred on Zaloriis between the Zalorians and the Empire. The human male Maximilian Veers demonstrated his cunning and courage in the battle, one of several conflicts that led to his eventual promotion to the rank of general in the Imperial Army.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Zaloriis was first mentioned in canon in Adam Gidwitz's 2015 children's book So You Want to Be a Jedi?, a retelling of the[1] 1980[3] film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[1] It had previously appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity as a barren and sandy planet in the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, where the player controls the Imperial Army, including Maximilian Veers, in the Galactic Empire campaign and must defeat a Rebel uprising.[4]
