Zanbar was a temperate swamp moon in the Outer Rim Territories covered with massive rocky plateaus. During the Clone Wars, the Mandalorian splinter group Death Watch established a temporary camp on its surface, which continued to be used after Death Watch allied with Maul to form the Shadow Collective.[3] Zanbar was later the site of a battle between the Shadow Collective and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[4]
Description[]
Zanbar was a temperate moon[2] in the Outer Rim Territories[1] marked by stretches of swampy vegetation pierced by towering plateaus of striated rock.[2] It was inhabited by anoobas,[3] vicious creatures with pronounced lower jaws and sharp teeth, fearsome growls, and thick patches of fur across their spines that lived throughout the Outer Rim Territories;[5] and momongs, small six-limbed[3] carnivorous[6] primates[7] that also inhabited the planet Trandosha[8] and its moon, Wasskah.[9]
Behind the scenes[]
Zanbar first appeared in "Eminence"[3] the fourteenth episode of the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars,[10] published on January 19, 2013.[11] In the official Star Wars databank establish that Zanbar is a moon,[2] the 2014 comic book Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir 1 calls it a planet.[4]
