Zebitrope VIII was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the Zebitrope system,[2] a part of the Centrality sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It occupied the eight orbital position in its star system,[3] which was connected to the Cadma system via the Cadma Conduit hyperlane.[1]

Zebitrope VIII was home to a rare species of lizard[2] that originated on[4] the planet Zebitrope IV.[3] The lizards had a symbiotic relationship with[5] a type of mold[3] that only grew on the reptiles' backs.[5] The mold was the only source of the[4] valuable and illegal drug lesai, and as a result, Zebitrope VIII was regularly visited by smugglers after they had completed the spice-trafficking route known as the Kessel Run.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Zebitrope VIII was introduced in the Wizards of the Coast roleplaying game source article "A Campaign Guide to the Centrality," which was authored by Michael Kogge and was published in Star Wars Gamer 5[2] on July 24, 2001.[6]

"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article published in Voyages SF 13, placed the Zebitrope system, and therefore Zebitrope VIII, in the Zebitrope sector. Since that article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process, its canonicity within the Star Wars Legends continuity was never confirmed.[7] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently overrode the Voyages SF 13 placement by establishing that the Zebitrope system was situated in grid square T-8 as part of the Centrality.[1]
