The Zeitooine Schism was an event involving the Jedi Order that took place on[2] the Inner Rim planet[3] Zeitooine[2] by 228 BBY.[1] During the schism, a number of Jedi were killed.[2]
That year,[1] while at a service at the Jedi Temple on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant honoring the Jedi High Council members that had fallen during the Jedi Order's and Galactic Republic's conflict with the Nihil marauders, Jedi Dez Rydan asked Jedi Knight Reath Silas when the Order had last experienced such heavy losses. In response, Silas noted he would need to go back centuries, with the question being how many centuries. He then mentioned a number of events where Jedi had died—including the Zeitooine Schism—but stated that none had taken as high of a toll as their current conflict.[2]
