Zerpen Industries was a company that dealt in ignition and other scientific researches. During the Clone Wars, Zerpen heavily invested in kyber crystal research and hired scientists including the polymath Galen Erso for the project, employing them on the planet Vallt. Erso studied synthesized kyber crystals as part of his work and ran tests on them. Although Erso did not think Zerpen was dealing in weaponizing any of their research, they had made several deals with both of the main parties of the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. At one point, the smuggler Has Obitt brought weapons to Zerpen Industries headquarters on the Epiphany moon in the Salient system. The Galactic Empire quickly arrived and, although with some resistance from Zerpen, laid waste to the base and conquered the Salient system.[1]
Zerpen employed freighters and other starships as a part of their business. Their company headquarters were found on the Epiphany moon, with Vallt being home to their fusion and ignition facility. The company had a sinuous logo.[1]
