"The cost of replacing lasers at the yard is ridiculous, but I suppose it's worth it."
―Zia Woog[src]

Zia Woog worked in the Alliance to Restore the Republic's accounting department during the Galactic Civil War. Rebel pilots at that time frequently tested themselves in the unofficial "pilot proving grounds", competing to set the best time on a series of courses through a Rebel salvage yard hidden in an asteroid field. Woog had concerns about the cost of replacing lasers damaged by the pilots, but considered it worth it to improve their skills.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Zia Woog was created for the 1999 LucasArts video game Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance. When launching the pilot proving grounds, several quotes are shown on the screen. A quote from Woog is included among them in the mission file, but is not shown in the game itself.
