The Zorbia system was among the Outer Moddell systems in the Moddell sector, one of the subsectors making up the Inner Zuma Region within the Outer Rim Territories' Zuma sector. The system was located on the edge of the Monsua Nebula and lay on the hyperlane known as the Ovise Reach, connecting it to the Endor and Trindello systems.[1] The Zorbia system contained three planets, including Zorbia II at its second orbital position. Zorbia II's local days lasted twenty-eight hours, and the planet had a 360-day-long local year.[2]
Zorbia II was home to thirty million Humans who were known as the Zorbian space pirates. The pirates were thought to have Corellian roots and had been a nuisance in the surrounding Outer Moddell systems for centuries; they were known to attack both each other and traveling starships.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Zorbia system was first mentioned in the article "Endor and the Moddell Sector," which was authored by Craig Robert Carey, Daniel Wallace, and Jason Fry and published in the ninth issue of the Star Wars Gamer magazine[2] on February 22, 2002.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the system in grid square H-16.[1]
